Integrate Slack with Releases

You can connect your Slack account to zeroheight and use it in conjunction with our Releases feature. This will allow you to notify teammates in Slack about new updates to your design system.

Connect Slack

1) Go to Your team

2) Under Integrations, click Connect next to Slack

Your company may have additional controls in place for adding apps to your Slack workspace. If you are unable to add the app to your workspace, reach out to your Slack workspace administrator.

Set up Slack notifications

1) Click the ... and open the Styleguide settings

2) Go to the Integrations section

2) Check the box next to New release notifications and select the channel you want to post in

4) Click Save

1) From the homepage, click the 🚀 icon to open the Manage Releases menu

2) Click Create release

3) You can now create a new release of your styleguide.

4) Enter the name of the release. The box to Send a Slack notification will be selected. You can uncheck the box to not send a notification.

👉 Note: Notifications cannot be sent for hidden releases.

4) Click Confirm

5) You’ve received a notification about your new release in Slack!

Can I post to private channels?

Not yet.

Can I edit the message that gets posted to Slack?

No, not yet.

Will releases be integrated with Microsoft Teams?

It is something we may consider in the future.
