Billing FAQs

How does billing work for the Team plan?

When you purchase the Team plan for the first time, you are charged either $19 (if paying monthly) or $192 (if paying yearly). When additional editors join your team, you are immediately charged a pro-rata to cover their subscription until the end of your billing cycle (this is based on the date of your initial subscription, and whether you purchased monthly or yearly). At the start of your next billing cycle, your account is charged the full amount for each editor on your organization at the time.

👉 Note: The Team plan is not available for new customers.

How does billing work for the Starter plan?

When you purchase the Starter plan for the first time, you are charged either $59 / editor (if paying monthly) or $49 / editor x 12 = $588 (if paying yearly). When additional editors join your organization, you are immediately charged a pro-rata to cover their subscription until the end of your billing cycle (this is based on the date of your initial subscription, and whether you purchased monthly or yearly). At the start of your next billing cycle, your account is charged the full amount for each editor on your organization at the time.

How does the Starter trial work?

The Starter plan trial is a 7-day trial during which you can access Starter plan features (read more about them here). If you are on the Free plan (which only supports a single Editor), you can invite other Editors during the trial, but note that they will lose access to your organization at the end of the trial. However, they will regain access as soon as you subscribe to either the Team or Starter plans.

What happens if an editor leaves the Team plan?

On the Team plan, if an editor leaves, your account gets credited based on the remaining time before the next billing cycle. That credit is then automatically applied to your account when the next billing cycle starts.

What’s the difference between an editor and a viewer?

Editors can create styleguides, write documentation, upload content, insert content into styleguides, invite other editors, invite viewers, etc.

Viewers don’t need an account, but they can only browse styleguides and inspect components – they can’t upload or edit content. Examples of viewers include developers, stakeholders, clients, etc.

What are the payment options?

All the plans can be purchased by credit card from your billing page. We support manual invoicing for the Enterprise plan.

Can I switch or cancel anytime?

Yes. You can cancel your subscription anytime from the billing page (this will prevent it from renewing). You can continue using your canceled account until the end of your billing cycle.

At the end of your billing cycle you will drop down to the Free plan and only the organization owner will have editor access to your organization. You will also lose access to any paid features such as customization.

How do I update my billing details?

You can update your billing details such as the billing address, invoice email, and payment information from the Billing page in your account.

Why am I billed in USD if my company is not headquartered in the United States?

We set up our payment provider to bill all customers in USD regardless of their location.

Does zeroheight accept bank wire transfers?

We can accept wire transfers for Professional and Enterprise plans. We do not accept them for the Starter plan.

Is there a refund policy?

zeroheight requires notice for refunds within 30 days of purchase.
