Virtual private networks (VPNs) can provide your team with an extra layer of security. If your company uses a VPN, this is how it affects using zeroheight.

Can I use zeroheight if I have a VPN?

Yes, you can use zeroheight behind a VPN.

How does it work?

When a company uses a VPN, it appears to us (and other websites) that traffic comes from a small number of IP addresses (even though their users may have access from around the world). This enables them to give us a small range of IP addresses to allow access to their styleguide.

Can I set up SSO for zeroheight if my company uses a VPN?

We recommend using both SSO and VPNs together. You will still need to log into your account because being on a VPN does not mean you can access everything. Read on how to set up SSO.

Do I need to be part of the network to access the styleguide?

If your company sets styleguide access to the VPN’s IP range, you will need to join the network. Reach out to your IT team to join your company’s VPN.

What happens if all my tools (e.g., Figma or Storybook) are behind a VPN?

You should not have issues if you and your tools are on the VPN. If you are not on the VPN, you may not have access. Contact your IT team to join your network. If your Storybook is behind a VPN, learn how to connect it to zeroheight

How can I set up restricting zeroheight access to a VPN?

If you would like your zeroheight account to be behind a VPN, your IT team needs to set up everything related to the VPN. This is not handled by zeroheight. Once everything is set up on your end, you can contact support@zeroheight.com with the IP addresses that your VPN uses to connect to the internet.
